Guar gum powder thickens water-based cosmetic & craft mixtures, helping you make a gel, lotion or paste less runny. This 100g pack is handy for small batches when you want to adjust the texture a little at a time.
Add the powder slowly to the water phase while mixing. Let it hydrate before adding more, as the mixture may continue to thicken. Adding too much at once can cause lumps. The amount you need depends on your other ingredients and the texture you want.

Guar gum changes thickness, but it does not replace an emulsifier in a lotion or a preservative in a water-based product. Test a small batch with your full formula first. This is regular guar gum, which is different from cationic guar gum used for hair conditioning.
