Raw Pine Resin Sap (Natural Pine Oleoresin) Liquid
Raw Pine Resin is a natural, unprocessed oleoresin collected from pine trees (Source locally in Sri Lanka). It contains solid resin compounds, which form rosin when processed, together with naturally occurring volatile pine terpenes.
This sticky natural material is commonly used in traditional woodwork, experimental varnish & adhesive making, incense blends, Anti slippery coating, fire-lighting products and other craft or industrial preparations. As it is supplied in its raw state, colour, scent, thickness and terpene content may vary between batches.
Please note: Raw pine resin is a natural, unprocessed material and may contain small pieces of bark, wood particles or other natural impurities. Filter or process it as needed for your intended application. This product is not the same as purified rosin or distilled turpentine.
Are Pine Resin & Gum Rosin the Same? Not exactly. Pine resin is the raw, sticky oleoresin collected from pine trees. Gum rosin, also called pine rosin, is the solid refined material left after removing the volatile turpentine. It is commonly used in adhesives, varnishes, candle making, inks and soldering flux.
Common Uses:
- Traditional wood finishes & experimental varnish blends
- Natural adhesive & tackifier formulations
- Development of grip enhancing & non-slip coatings for gym equipment, industrial mats, logistics surfaces, surfboards & similar applications
- Incense & aromatic craft blends
- Fire-lighting & outdoor utility products
- Woodworking & restoration projects
- Processing into refined rosin & other pine-derived materials
- Craft & industrial formulation trials
Raw pine resin should not be applied directly as a finished anti-slip coating. Its suitability, grip, hardness, heat resistance and surface compatibility must be tested within the final formulation. Do not use on food contact surfaces.
How to Use:
- Use according to your selected formulation or process. If needed, remove bark and other particles using a suitable filter or metal mesh.
- To make the resin easier to handle, gently warm the closed container in lukewarm water. Do not microwave or place the container directly on a stove or hot surface.
- Always test a small quantity before full use. If further heating is required, use controlled indirect heat in a well-ventilated work area. *Never heat over a direct flame.*
Important Warning:
- For craft and industrial use only. Not for food, cosmetic, medicinal or therapeutic use.
- Contains naturally occurring volatile pine terpenes & may be combustible. Keep away from flames, sparks, hot surfaces and other ignition sources. Avoid breathing vapour, smoke or fumes, especially when heated.
- Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Natural pine resin may cause irritation or an allergic skin reaction in sensitive individuals. Wear protective gloves and safety glasses while handling. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not pour into drains or release into the environment.
First Aid:
- Eyes: Rinse carefully with clean water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Seek medical advice if irritation continues.
- Skin: Wash thoroughly with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. Seek medical advice if irritation or a rash develops.
- Inhalation: Move to fresh air and rest. Seek medical attention if dizziness, breathing difficulty or irritation continues.
- Swallowed: Rinse the mouth. *Do not induce vomiting.* Contact a doctor or poison information centre immediately.
Storage: Keep the container tightly closed and upright in a cool, dry and well ventilated place. Protect from direct sunlight, heat, sparks and open flames. Store away from food, animal feed & strong oxidising chemicals.
