Vegetable glycerin helps hold moisture in lotions, creams, soaps & hair care products. This 99.5% glycerol is a clear, colourless, thick liquid used in cosmetic & soap making to help reduce dryness and improve how finished products feel on the skin.
Glycerine blends easily with water & ethanol. Add it to the water phase of a suitable formula and mix well. It is useful for small trial batches, skincare & larger production batches.
Main Uses & Benefits:
- Moisture retention: Helps keep moisture in creams, lotions and moisturisers.
- Soap making: Used in suitable soap recipes, including transparent glycerin soap.
- Hair care: A humectant for shampoos, conditioners and other hair products.
- Powder mixing: Helps wet some gums and thickeners before adding them to water.
- Botanical extracts: Used as a solvent in suitable glycerin based herbal extracts.
Use the amount recommended in your tested formula. Too much glycerin can leave a sticky feel.
